The great balancing act

Do you like to study with a group of classmates?  Do you need peace and quiet in order to concentrate?  Or, do you want both of these options at different times?

Here in the library we are trying to support the student body in the different ways that they study.  Although the concept of “noise zones” is usually appreciated, the implementation hasn’t always been a success!

It can be hard to strike a balance between a reasonable level of noise in the (green) group study area and a reasonable level of quiet in the (orange) quiet study area.  So, this week we have a new library attendant.  In the quiet study area you will be asked to work individually and quietly.  In the group study area you will be asked to maintain a studious environment.  As usual, please do not eat or drink (except water) and do not speak on your phone.

As exams and CA/project deadlines approach, we understand that this is a very busy and stressful time for students.  So please show respect and consideration for each other and help make the library a good place to come and study in!
