Today is the 396th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. Widely regarded as the greatest English writer of all time, he was born in April 1564 and died in on 26th April 1616. Responsible for such great compositions as King Lear, Hamlet, The Tempest and Romeo & Juliet, today his work is often quoted in everyday English as means to illustrate a point.
