Unboxing our new tablets

So, it turns out that today is International Happiness Day and the library has some good news!  We have 10 new Galaxy tablets to lend (as demonstrated by our glamorous assistant, Sandra): 
 
 

We have been lending laptops for the past few weeks, and it has been a great success.  The rules and regulations for borrowing tablets are a little different (see below for the full list).  The tablets can be borrowed for 3 hours at a time and they cannot be removed from the library



Borrowing rules and regulations for ITB Library Tablets
  1. Student tablets are available on a first come, first serve basis. 
  2. They are loaned for three hours and are not to be removed from the library.
  3. They can be renewed twice.
  4. Late fines are charged at €10 per day, maximum fine €50. 
  5. Replacement costs for tablets that are irrevocably damaged or lost while in a patron’s possession is €382 plus an additional €50 processing fee. 
  6. Replacement cost for chargers is at current replacement value. 
  7. Replacement cost for damaged or lost cases is €36 
  8. Replacement cost for damaged or lost SD card/USB connector is €32
  9. If a tablet is returned with repairable damage, patrons will be charged €50 processing fee. 
  10. Patrons should not attempt to repair or replace damaged tablets, or accessories. 
  11. Any damage should be reported to the library immediately on 01-8851047 or library_staff@itb.ie 
  12. Any personal information or downloaded material will be erased upon return. 
  13. The Library is not responsible for saving or transferring any information or downloads. 
  14. By borrowing a tablet, patrons agree to the preceding rules and regulations
